Congratulations! You’re now the proud owner of your very own hand-poured soy candle. Now What? Whether it’s your first soy candle or your 100th, it’s important to know how to take care of your candle so it will continue to emit beautiful warmth and strong fragrance for its entire life.
First and foremost, keep your candle out of direct sunlight. Because our candles are made of only natural ingredients and don’t contain preservatives or stabilizers, they will keep their original, true color and perfect mix of fragrance throughout only if they are not left in the sun.
Did you know your candle has a memory? When you burn your candle for the first time, it is very important to burn it long enough to let the entire top of the candle become liquefied. That
way, each time you burn your candle, it will “remember” to burn out first, then down, so you won’t have a “tunneling” effect. Don’t forget to give your new candle a good start!
Most everyone knows to keep their wicks trimmed to approximately 1/4 inch, but do you know the best way to do it? The easiest way to trim your wick is to use a wick trimmer with a tray similar to this one. When you cut the wick it is caught in the tray and easily removed from your soy candle.
